This year, record fires have exploded across South America, devouring millions of hectares of rainforest and other diverse ecosystems. Today’s emergency is entirely man-made, like the climate crisis exacerbating it.

Amazon Watch is collaborating to support an open letter to the presidents of Argentina, Brazil, Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay, and Peru. The world is watching and we cannot wait for governments to take urgent action to prevent a climate catastrophe. The time to act is now!

TELL AMAZONIAN PRESIDENTS: RECORD WILDFIRES DEMAND AN UNPRECEDENTED RESPONSE!

In the coming months, affected countries will host key decision-making conferences for the planet, starting with COP16 on the Convention on Biological Diversity in Colombia and then COP30 of the U.N. Framework Convention on Climate Change in the Amazon region of Brazil.

Add your name to this important open letter!
