Dear John, The National Low Income Housing Coalition and other national leaders of the Campaign for Housing and Community Development Funding are hosting a national call-in day TODAY to urge Congress to include funding to meet the urgent needs of people experiencing homelessness and America’s lowest-income renters in the next coronavirus relief package. These policy asks echo the requests NPH and more than 100 of the Bay Area and California's leading non-profit and community leaders sent Speaker Pelosi and the California Delegation last week. This national call-in day will help elevate these asks to Congress, and we urge you to help us make sure California's voice is heard! Urge Congress to: - Pass sweeping rental/debt relief for all households which are no longer able to pay their rents or mortgages as a result of COVID-19;
- Designate affordable housing as essential infrastructure in any future Infrastructure Stimulus package.

You can still also add your signature and personal comments to the letter to urge Speaker Pelosi and the California Congressional Delegation to advance critical affordable housing and homelessness solutions as both crisis response and crisis recovery to our COVID environment.
These proposals support our communities during the public health and economic crises — by keeping folks housed, investing in affordable housing to help millions get back on their feet, and pumping billions of dollars into our economy by creating hundreds of thousands of new jobs through affordable housing construction. Your action today can help demonstrate to lawmakers the groundswell of support behind these necessary actions so that everyone — Black and White, Asian and Latinx, Native and newcomer — has a stable place to live, be safe, and thrive, no matter what the future holds. Sincerely, Pedro Galvao NPH Policy Director
