Meet the newest CZI Community Fund Partners!

Each fall at the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, we look forward to welcoming our newest Community Fund partners, who play a crucial role in our local work and impact ([link removed] ) . Launched in 2017, the Community Fund is an annual funding opportunity for organizations that are helping create a more socially, economically, and racially just San Mateo County.

Through their programs and services, Community Fund partners are increasing access to the building blocks of social and economic well-being, including housing, healthcare, education, job and career skills and other social supports. CZI’s goal is to ensure that this funding stream gives people the tools, resources, and power to shape their lives and communities.

We’re thrilled to support 45 organizations through the Community Fund in the upcoming year. Grantees will receive two-year grants, enabling them to have greater flexibility to address the most urgent needs facing the local community.

“The Community Fund is at the heart of our commitment to San Mateo County, and we believe in the power of our local community to create lasting, meaningful change,” says Alma Pulido, Community Affairs Program Officer at CZI. “These organizations are doing incredible work and we’re proud to support them as they continue to make impactful change in the lives of so many. Together, we can build a stronger, more resilient community where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.”

CZI continued its participatory grantmaking practices ([link removed] ) this year, enlisting a review panel of community members with lived experience and CZI staff members to help guide grantmaking decisions. This collaborative funding approach builds trust and prioritizes community voices.
