John,
We set an ambitious goal to raise $100,000 this month—Childhood Cancer Awareness Month—to
ensure that all kids diagnosed with cancer have the best chance of a bright, healthy future.
To help us get there, an anonymous donor has generously offered to MATCH all donations, dollar for
dollar, up to $100,000.
This special match opportunity can double your impact for kids facing cancer and other illnesses at
Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. Give now to make TWICE the impact for children.
When you donate today, you’re helping children like 18-month-old Luca. This time last year,
Luca’s parents Jianine and Clark got news that no parent wants to hear: Luca had a grapefruit-sized
tumor on his right kidney. He was diagnosed with stage 3 clear cell sarcoma—a very rare cancer.
But thanks to a new treatment at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, he’s cancer-free and
thriving again—as every child should be. Brave Luca finished chemo just in time for Childhood Cancer
Awareness Month.
Can we count on you to pitch in
$10—to fund treatment, research and the very best care for kids like Luca?
For every gift of $35 or more, a CHLA patient will receive a signed copy of "Hi,
Juice Box! Juice Box Stays at the Hospital." This special book, written by
best-selling children’s book author Drew Daywalt, introduces the people and places a kid might
encounter at the hospital in a fun, accessible way—produced with insight from a team of clinicians
at CHLA. "Hi, Juice Box!" can help kids who will be spending a lot of time in the hospital
better cope with a difficult experience.
If you’re a parent, you never want your child to get a diagnosis like
Luca’s. But wouldn’t you want to know that world-class care is here for your child if
you need it?
Support CHLA this Childhood Cancer Awareness Month
Please join Luca and his family—and our entire community—to raise $100,000
so every child in Los Angeles has world-class care.
Thank you for all you do to support CHLA and ensure the best care for all of L.A.’s children!
