YOUR PUBLIC SAFETY BRIEFING
------------------------------------------------------------
As your District Attorney, I’m proud to highlight a few recent achievements that underscore our commitment to ensuring criminals face consequences for their actions and our neighborhoods remain safe. Your trust is the cornerstone of our work, and I am grateful for the opportunity to serve you and your family.

Last month, a Memphis man was convicted on child pornography charges in a DeSoto County Circuit Court. “Pedophilia and the individuals who commit such heinous acts are intolerable, and my office is committed to prosecuting these crimes to the fullest extent of the law.” - D.A. Barton

Cracking Down on Financial Schemes
Our office is resolute in protecting the elderly and vulnerable citizens of DeSoto County from fraudsters. When Memphis dropped the ball on prosecuting a known criminal for financial crimes, we stepped in and put this criminal behind bars.
"Lenient sentences in Memphis are a disaster that allows criminals to walk free and spread their illegal activities to neighboring areas like ours. In DeSoto County, we don’t offer soft sentences or weak deals. If you commit a crime here, you will face the full force of the law and severe consequences.”- D.A. Barton
