Friend,
During our All-Staff Conference in El Paso our team walked to the bridge that connects Texas with Mexico. This symbolic walk was held in honor of all the families and children who are forced to flee violence and seek safety in the United States.
We're excited to announce that with our combined efforts, we've managed to raise $26,000 of our $35,000 goal. This means we’ve helped Joaquin and Kolya complete their journeys and arrive in the United States. They are now safe, happy, and free!

We now invite you on another journey with Yesenia. After years of dealing with food & water shortages, rolling blackouts, and waves of political violence, Yesenia and her father leave their home in Caracas with the hope of reaching family in Miami and applying for Temporary Protected Status in the near future.
Before getting to Florida, they will need to cross the Darien Gap, a remote, muddy crossing between Colombia and Panama. Once they arrive at the U.S.-Mexico border, they will have traveled roughly 2,263 miles, with more to go before they can feel like they’re close to anything called home.

With Gratitude,
The Young Center Development Team
P.S.- You can also walk in celebration of someone who supported you! . Everybody has a Waymaker in their lives. These are the people who have taken us aside and have shown us the way forward in our new home, school, country, or chosen industry, paving the way for our future successes. Sign up here to honor that person. [[link removed]]
