Dear Friend,
Advocacy is one of the most powerful
tools we use to fight for the needs and rights of those impacted by
Alzheimer's disease and other dementia. There are nearly 7 million
Americans living with this devastating disease, and they need our
support. Today, I urge you to make your voice heard on their behalf.

Thanks to the tireless efforts of our
advocates and bipartisan congressional champions, federal Alzheimer's
and dementia research funding is at an all-time high, and our nation
is implementing an Alzheimer's public health infrastructure. Today,
the National Institutes of Health (NIH) is investing as much as $3.8
billion annually in Alzheimer's and dementia research. But the work
remains. We are focused on two major funding requests this year from
Congress.
* An additional $318 million in Fiscal Year (FY) 2025 Alzheimer's
and dementia research funding at the NIH. Barring increased
research funding to uncover and develop medical breakthroughs
needed to prevent, slow or cure the disease, the number of
people aged 65 and older with Alzheimer's or other dementia
could grow to 13.8 million by 2060.
* $35 million in FY 2025 for implementation of the Building Our
Largest Dementia (BOLD) Infrastructure for Alzheimer's Act at
the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). This act
will continue strengthening the public health infrastructure
across the country by implementing effective Alzheimer's
interventions. The funding will support public health efforts
such as increasing early detection and diagnosis, reducing risk
and preventing avoidable hospitalizations.
We know you are committed to the fight
to end Alzheimer's and all other dementia. We need your help now to
ensure our nation continues to address Alzheimer's and dementia as a
priority - especially at this important time.
We need caring members of our
community like you to raise your voice and urge Congress to support
this critical funding. We've made it easy and quick for you, too, by
providing sample language for you to use.
