Toward a Democracy That Works for Us All

Dear FAIR Friend,

This is the final week of our fall appeal, and we are still working hard to raise enough money to get us through to our next fundraising pitch at the end of the year. We understand that during election seasons, many people send resources elsewhere, but we believe it is important to treat the Fourth Estate as a crucial pillar of democracy. When the corporate press trumpets MAGA hate, lies and disinformation, we fight to be the voice of reason. When they urge the left to sprint rightward, we remind the public of how important it is for progressive voices advocating for popular policies to be heard.

As you may know, FAIR has been working to close a more than $200,000 gap in our fundraising we have sustained over the past few years. We want to expand our work and reach, not shrink it! But we need resources to do so.
Donate today to help keep us afloat.

The majority of our operating revenue comes from individual donors like you. Here is some work your generosity has funded recently:

  • Media Throw Everything But the Facts Against Harris’s ‘Price Control’ Proposal
  • CounterSpin: Jen Senko on The Brainwashing of My Dad
  • WSJ Calls for Keeping Judiciary in Shadows
  • Study: To US Papers, ‘Identity Politics’ Is Mostly a Way to Sneer at the Left

An informed public, a citizenry armed with the knowledge and power to engage in civic spaces, is a prerequisite to a healthy and just democracy that works for us all, not just the elite few. No matter who you are, where you live, where you come from, or what your education level is, you have the right to reliable information. That’s the mission FAIR was founded on in 1986, and it’s what keeps us determined to continue this work far beyond 2024.

But we need your help to do so. Donate today to support a more just and democratic press this election season.

Thank you for your support.

Sincerely,

Olivia, Julie, Janine & Jim

P.S. If you are unable to support FAIR financially during this time, we invite you to help us spread the word! Send your latest favorite FAIR article or CounterSpin episode to a friend, and invite your network to sign up for your email list!
