Project 2025 is awful for Midwest farmers and biofuels. Trump should disown it.
— Des Moines Register, Aug 11, 2024
“Project 2025’s farm and energy policies were written by once and potentially future leaders in [Trump’s] administration who would shape policy if he wins in November. So, whether Project 2025 itself survives as a “playbook” for a future Trump administration or not, its specific policy recommendations need to be unambiguously repudiated by Trump now or they will quite likely resurface if he were to take the oath again. “
Folks — the extreme right’s Project 2025 agenda would be detrimental to farmers across Central and Southern Illinois.
This agenda suggests fully repealing Agricultural Risk Coverage and Price Loss Coverage Programs and cutting critical social safety nets that farmers rely on, especially as our rapidly changing climate impacts our agricultural infrastructure.
The extreme right also suggests cutting work visas, eliminating crop insurance, and repealing export promotion programs that open pathways for new markets for American goods.
This agenda is dangerous and would devastate farmers across the nation. Will you pitch in right now to help us keep this seat blue and defeat this extreme agenda?

Project 2025 is a threat to everything we’ve achieved and everything we work hard to protect. We should be investing in our nation’s farmers — not gutting the safety nets they rely on to keep our families fed.
