Rally crowd chants "send them back!" as Trump smears Springfield, Ohio
Having swapped his dog whistle for a bullhorn years ago, the disgraced ex-president took to a rally stage in Pennsylvania and whipped the MAGA faithful into hateful, xenophobic cheers of "Send them back!" after smearing — yet again — legal Haitian immigrants living in Springfield, Ohio. The convicted felon, whose own Republican Party has been whining about hostile rhetoric in a political climate they themselves have radicalized, told his mostly white audience that Springfield "will never be the same." Though he never named their country of origin directly, Trump was clearly talking about the thousands of Haitian immigrants who LEGALLY emigrated to the United States and have relocated to the mid-sized Ohio city in recent years. "You have to get them the hell out, you have to get them out. I'm sorry, can't have it, can't have it. They destroyed it," the racist con man screamed. Despite numerous reports and multiple authorities in the city confirming that outlandish right-wing conspiracies about Haitian immigrants held no truth, Trump and Vance are continuing to spread bullshit stories of pets being stolen and eaten, all in a craven play to scare white voters into voting against their own economic self-interest. Truly pathetic.

VIDEO OF THE DAY: Bombshell update on Trump plan to change electoral vote system
Republicans' craven scheme to tweak Nebraska's allotment of electoral votes at the 11th hour to benefit Donald Trump appears to have flatlined — at least for the time being — after a single GOP state lawmaker came out against the proposed change at this late stage of the election. With just under six weeks until Election Day plenty can still change, but the MAGA cult leader's attempt to move the goal posts in Nebraska looks to be off the table for now.

Trump REFUSES to acknowledge climate crisis at debate
EDF Action: Last week, Donald Trump made it clear that if he becomes president, all the progress we've made in the fight against the climate crisis and transitioning to a green energy economy will go right in the trash — and as three enormous wildfires ravage California and deadly floods strike everywhere from Spain to Vietnam, it's obvious that we cannot afford to go even one step backwards. Will you pledge to vote for climate champions this November and make sure that Trump and his corporate cronies can't roll back all of President Biden's accomplishments?
Israel and Hezbollah renew fire after the deadliest day in Lebanon since 2006
Israel and Hezbollah traded strikes again Tuesday as the death toll from a massive Israeli bombardment climbed to nearly 560 people and thousands fled from southern Lebanon with the two sides on the brink of all-out war. Displaced families slept in shelters hastily set up in schools in Beirut and the coastal city of Sidon. With hotels quickly booked to capacity or rooms priced beyond the means of many families, those who did not find shelter slept in their cars, in parks, or along the seaside. The Lebanese militant group Hezbollah said it launched missiles overnight at eight sites in Israel, including an explosives factory in Zichron, 37 miles from the border. The renewed exchange came after Monday’s barrages racked up the highest death toll in any single day in Lebanon since Israel and Hezbollah fought a bruising monthlong war in 2006. The death toll from the latest Israeli strikes reached 558, including 50 children and 94 women, with 1,835 wounded, Lebanese Health Minister Firass Abiad said on Tuesday.
Republicans in swing states say they see scant signs of groups door-knocking for Trump
Republican activists in swing states say they have seen little sign of the teams tasked with knocking on doors and turning out infrequent voters on behalf of the MAGA cult leader, raising concerns about the party’s presidential nominee relying on outside groups — including Elon Musk's super PAC — for a critical part of his campaign operations. It is difficult to demonstrate that something is not happening, but with fewer than 50 days until the Nov. 5 election, dozens of Republican officials, activists, and operatives in Michigan, North Carolina, and other battleground states say they have rarely or never witnessed the group’s canvassers. In Arizona and Nevada, the Musk-backed America PAC replaced its door-knocking company just this past week. Perhaps relying on a billionaire, ketamine-addled man toddler utterly consumed with spreading lies on nüTwitter isn't the wisest get-out-the-everyday-American-vote strategy, but a more nefarious explanation also looms: Trump and his team have spent years drumming up fears of a fraudulent election, have installed hundreds of sympathetic allies in battleground state election offices, and are preemptively challenging the results of an election that is still 41 days away with an army of MAGA lawyers hellbent on undermining American democracy. When that is your endgame strategy, perhaps door knockers aren't a real priority?

Project 2025 mastermind allegedly told colleagues he killed a dog with a shovel
In news as troubling as it is unsurprising, Kevin Roberts — the ideologue behind Trump's Project 2025, the radical, right-wing policy manifesto calling for mass immigrant deportations, total bans on reproductive freedom, the end of publicly funded education, and dozens of other far-right fever dreams — told multiple university colleagues at New Mexico State University in the early 2000s that he killed a neighborhood dog with a shovel because it was barking a lot and waking his baby at the time. For those keeping score at home this election season, REPUBLICANS KILLING DOGS: 2. IMMIGRANTS EATING PETS: 0.

Melania Trump was paid for a rare appearance at a political event. It’s not clear who cut the unusual six-figure check
Melania Trump has barely been seen on the campaign trail this year. One of the few times she has appeared at a political event, she received a six-figure paycheck — a highly unusual move for the spouse of a candidate, but honestly par for the course in Trump world. The former first lady spoke at two political fundraisers for the Log Cabin Republicans this year, and she was paid $237,500 for an April event, according to the disgraced ex-president's latest financial disclosure form. The payment was listed as a “speaking engagement.” Grifters gonna grift, grift, grift, grift, grift.

Trump tells "lonely" women they will "no longer be thinking about abortion" if he wins in truly wacky rally speech
The disgraced ex-president stood before MAGA rally goers and delivered an absolutely bonkers, divorced-from-reality diatribe warning of a dystopian version of America that simply does not exist WHILE ALSO casting himself as some sort of messianic "protector" of women who will fix ALL the country's problems and with such success that "lonely" females "will no longer be thinking about abortion!" Folks, we are reaching Orwellian levels of gaslighting with 41 days still to go before Election Day. Let us muster our collective resolve and do everything in our collective power to retire this lunatic for good.
