Hi there, friend,
A few weeks ago, I reached out to ask you to share anything you’re feeling, your current situation, and how your life is being affected by COVID-19. So many of you shared how you are coping, what you wish would happen, and more.
One of the things I realized while going through them was how much everything we have been fighting for matters so much more during this pandemic.
Jo Ann told me her husband is in the hospital long term, and she hasn’t been able to see him. We need to be fighting for insurance that doesn’t make extended care an unaffordable impossibility.
Jeannie let me know that she has been struggling with her mental health while being alone for days on end. This is an extraordinarily difficult time to be alone—and our system already is unprepared to give people the help they need when struggling with their emotional and mental health. We need advocates in Congress fighting for nationwide support measures.
Other supporters wrote to me about the struggles of homeschooling their kids without a connection to rural broadband. Internet accessibility for our rural communities is essential—not only for homeschooling but for our farmers, our health clinics, and everyday life. Our families deserve that—and MN-08 needs an advocate willing to fight for it.
I feel deeply for all of you going through your own crises as this pandemic unfolds. Thank you for sharing these thoughts with me, and with each other. We must listen to one another to make it through this—and if you ever want to share with me further, do reach out.
My best,
Quinn
