I’m an OB/GYN in Indiana. Like Dr. Kristin Lyerly, I practice reproductive medicine, including providing abortions to patients who need them. And like Dr. Lyerly, Republicans have attacked me for my work.

I’d like to take a moment to tell you my story, and why I’m supporting Dr. Kristin Lyerly’s campaign for Congress — and then ask you to join me by chipping in to her campaign.

In 2022, Republicans — including Indiana’s attorney general — launched a politically-motivated investigation against me designed to intimidate me due to my work, even asking about my tattoos. Despite their efforts, I have never stopped speaking out and advocating for reproductive rights, because my patients, and all patients, should have access to the care they need.

I’m one of just a handful of doctors in states like Indiana who still provide abortions, and in dozens of states patients have to travel hundreds of miles to access the care they need. Restrictions on care have also contributed to more and more OB/GYNs leaving for different states, and even maternity wards shutting down entirely. The results can be absolutely devastating.

Let’s make one thing clear: Abortion is health care. We need elected officials who understand that, and will ensure that all patients are able to make the health care choices that are right for them, without being forced to travel or wait or go without care entirely.

That’s why I’m supporting my friend Kristin. We need a pro-choice OB/GYN in Congress — someone who understands the importance of autonomy in our health care decisions and will fight for the right of patients to make those choices with their doctors, without the interference of politicians.
