Hey there, team! My name is Gabby Giffords, the former Congresswoman from Arizona and founder of the national gun safety organization GIFFORDS. I’m writing to you all today in support of my good friend Lisa Blunt Rochester, the Congresswoman from Delaware.

Here are three good reasons why you should support Lisa and her historic campaign for the U.S. Senate.

1. Lisa has always been an unparalleled champion for her state and the safety of her constituents. From lowering costs for everyday working families to protecting our communities from gun violence, she has continued to fight for all Americans in the House. I know she’ll do the same in the Senate.


2. Delaware is one of the key states that will determine if Democrats hold onto their 51-49 Senate majority. Our Senate majority passed the first comprehensive gun safety law in nearly thirty years in 2022, but to continue building on this progress, we need champions like Lisa to hold the line in 2024. Her self-funding opponent is writing blank checks to their campaign and is relying on outside donors to help flip this seat red.


3. If elected in November, Lisa would be the *fourth* Black woman to ever serve in the United States Senate. But Lisa faces an uphill battle with her fundraising numbers. Historically, Black women raise only one-third of what their white counterparts raise.

The bottom line is this: National Republicans see people like Lisa, a true leader who stands up the gun lobby and senseless violence, as a threat. And it’s become pretty clear that they’ll do just about anything to defeat her – but we can’t let them.
