This Wednesday, May 6th at 3:00 PM ET, we will be joined by key Senate staffers to discuss the bipartisan bill they are working on with colleagues in the House Problem Solvers Caucus, to send COVID-19 relief funds to beleaguered state and local governments. It’s hard to overstate the importance of this development: For the first time in a long time, rank and file members from both parties and from both the House and the Senate are taking the lead in shaping major legislation. The joint proposal could be released on Wednesday and it’s not a moment too soon.

While this pandemic is global, its impact is distressingly local. States and municipalities all over the country are hurting and they need federal help to stay afloat and keep frontline workers like cops, firefighters, nurses and sanitation workers on the job.
