October is Domestic Violence Awareness and Prevention Month (DVAM) Join us to raise awareness, support survivors, and create a future free of violence by preventing abuse before it starts. Blessing of the Animals Sunday, October 6th, 4:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. Pets of all kinds (leashed or crated, please) are welcome at this service in the spirit of St. Francis which will be held on the Rock Spring UCC lawn. Music and readings will mark the role of pets in our lives before all pets are invited to receive individual blessings. Gift bags for dogs and cats will be provided, and you are invited to bring a donation of new and unused dog or cat supplies for Doorways. Thank you! Purple Thursday Thursday, October 17th Wear purple with a purpose! Purple is the color of domestic violence awareness. Wear purple and post pictures with #PurpleThursdayArlVA to raise awareness about the issue, to show support for survivors, and to advocate for healthy relationships. Remember to tag Doorways! Family Movie Day: The Wild Robot Saturday, October 19th, 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Tickets $10/adult and $5/child, including snackpack Join us for a family movie day!
