Visit to Cultech

It was fantastic to visit local family run business Cultech here in Port Talbot, who create probiotics, vitamins and minerals.

Founded in 1994 by a husband and wife team, this local business has grown to huge heights, with the company now being in the top 3 in their field in the UK and a global leader.

It was a very interesting visit and I thoroughly enjoyed being shown around their facility, being shown the entire process from seeing the raw bacteria, right the way through to seeing the finished product being labelled.

The company employs 350 local people and we are lucky to have them!

Friends of Jersey Park Picnic

I had a wonderful afternoon at the Friends of Jersey Park Picnic in the Park in Briton Ferry this month.

It was a lovely community event, for all the family - and the rain held off too!

Aberavon Green Stars RFC 'Round the Pier Swim

Well done to everyone who took part in the Aberavon Green Stars RFC Bernard Donovan 55th Around The Pier Swim this summer.

As always there was a great atmosphere and tremendous support for the competitors. I was delighted to be there to both cheer them on for the event and to present an award in the clubhouse afterwards.

Taibach Tigers MyRounders Game

I was delighted to join Taibach Tigers recently when they took on The Bats Out Of Hell.

Rounders has really taken off across Wales with thousands of players and hundreds of teams joining MyRounders, which was set up right here in Port Talbot.

There was a brilliant atmosphere at Ysgol Cwm Brombil with players of all ages, across the generations, and of all abilities joining in and having a great time.

Emergency Services Family Day

I was very pleased to welcome Welsh Secretary Jo Stevens & our new First Minister to the excellent Rototherm Group in the Aberafan Maesteg constituency.

I'm proud that 50 firms have signed a pledge to support any steelworker made redundant - from guaranteed interviews to training & coaching.

Sole Searchers Run Club

It was great to catch up with Sole Searchers Run Club recently on Aberafan beach.

Sole Searchers was set up by Kyle as way for people to socialise and keep fit. They meet every Sunday for a run along the sea front and it doesn't matter whether you are a runner or not. There's also a game of Wordle to finish the session off.

Emergency Services Afternoon at Pyle Library

It was great to pop along to the Emergency Services afternoon in Pyle Library.

People of all ages were there learning about the important work of our emergency services staff.

There were representatives from the police, fire service, ambulance service and the RNLI.

Viva Port Talbot Retro Fest

It was so great to see our town centre packed for the Viva Port Talbot Retro Festival.

Everyone was enjoying the live music, food and vintage cars, there was really buzz around town - all thanks to the brilliant team at Viva Port Talbot

The Beast of Bryn

The Beast of Bryn is a trail run through the beautiful hills around the lovely village of Bryn.

Two options: 10.5 or 6.5 miles - no prizes for guessing which one I did!

I was honoured to not only participate, but also be there to start the race.
