I wanted to take a moment to reach out and personally thank you for your generosity.
As a physician who has traveled on assignment with Doctors Without Borders, I know personally just how much your support has meant to our doctors, nurses, and other experts on the ground—especially now, as we continue to scale up our response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Right now, our teams are directly responding to this crisis in the more than 70 countries where we run existing programs, while opening projects in new countries as they become outbreak hotspots. We’ve even launched a response here in the United States, working with partner organizations to care for those experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity in New York and exploring additional options in other communities, including Puerto Rico, Florida, and Native
American communities in the American Southwest.
That’s why I hope I can count on you to step forward and help. Tomorrow is Giving Tuesday Now—a global day of generosity in support of those on the front lines of the pandemic. We’ve set an ambitious goal to bring in 1,100 monthly supporters of our work before midnight tomorrow, to fund the next phase of our COVID-19 response and other lifesaving work around the world.
On behalf of all of us here at Doctors Without Borders, thank you so much for everything you do to support global humanitarian work—and thank you for helping to make this special day of generosity a success.
Dr. Africa Stewart President of the Board Doctors Without Borders USA
