Sheriff Penzone has put public safety at the forefront of his work since he took office in 2017. And now, we’re proud to let you know that Sheriff Penzone has been invited to join The President’s Commission on Law Enforcement and the Administration of Justice.

The commission was established to conduct a comprehensive review of the criminal justice system, identify gaps, needs, and opportunities, and develop a strategic plan to guide improvement efforts.

Sheriff Penzone is honored to represent the Arizona law enforcement community as part of this critical group. As a member of the commission, Sheriff Penzone will join the office of the U.S. Attorney General, the Department of Justice, and the White House to focus on how mental illness, homelessness, and substance abuse impact public safety and our communities across the nation.

Sheriff Penzone is focused on protecting everyone in our community, especially now as we work to mitigate the spread and impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. He is ready to bring his expertise and experience to this national discussion.
