WILL Continues to WIN! Winning for Freedom & True Equality Under the Law! Federal Judge Rules Against Biden-Harris Affirmative Action Program! WILL secured a major legal victory against the Biden-Harris Administration, as a federal judge ruled against the “disadvantaged business enterprise” (DBE) program. The DBE program discriminates against businesses based on race and gender, doling out contracts to small businesses owned by women and certain preferred minority groups. This lawsuit was filed in federal court in the Eastern District of Kentucky. Under this preliminary ruling, the federal government’s race and gender preferences may not be used against WILL’s clients. WILL President and General Counsel Rick Esenberg, stated, “Brick by brick, we will dismantle federal policies that discriminate against America’s small businesses and entrepreneurs. We started this work in 2021, and we will continue to fight until all Americans receive equal treatment.” Press Release New from WILL Policy: Telehealth Findings Wisconsin has made great strides in expanding access to telehealth services, but we still need to expand access for telehealth across state lines to remove geographic and financial barriers to healthcare for our residents. Learn More WILL Defends Property Owners in New Lawsuit! WILL has filed a new lawsuit against the village of Sister Bay for an irrational rule that limits the number of bedrooms vacationers can use in a rental home and restricts where they can sleep. Our clients do not seek to exceed the Village’s 12-person capacity limit, but want to allow their guests to use the whole space however they see fit. The Village’s attempt to limit how private properties can use their rooms and sleeping arrangements is unlawful for many reasons, including that it’s arbitrary and unreasonable. WILL Deputy Counsel, Luke Berg, remarked, “The Village cannot dictate where vacationers can sleep within a private home, especially in homes that existed prior to the four-bedroom limit. We have tried repeatedly to work with the Village, but so far it has refused to be reasonable. We hope this lawsuit will restore the basic rights that Sister Bay property owners have under Wisconsin law and provide clear, common-sense limits to the Village’s authority.” A Night to Remember!
