Folks, I want to get real with you for a minute: The term “extreme” gets thrown around a lot in politics these days, and I think we owe it to each other to be really clear about what we mean when we say this.
A basic definition of extreme is very severe, beyond the “usual,” or drastic.
So it is absolutely not an exaggeration to say that far too many of today’s Republican politicians – certainly including my opponent – are extreme .
I want to be clear about this: “Extreme” doesn’t just mean something or someone I disagree with. Working with people who you don’t agree with on every issue is a baseline job requirement in Congress, and one I’m proud to have leaned into over my first two terms!
But…
Wanting to ban abortion nationwide when a broad majority of Americans believe abortion should be legal? Extreme.
Saying climate change is a hoax when an overwhelming majority of scientists agree that not only is it real, its primary cause is human activity? Extreme.
Spreading racist conspiracy theories about immigrants that lead to real and serious threats to people’s lives? Extreme.
Hosting a campaign fundraiser with a violent war criminal who was court-martialed on over a dozen war crimes charges, including murder? Extreme.
With extremists like my opponent, Donald Trump, and JD Vance on the ballot, the stakes in this election are incredibly high – and early voting has already begun in several states across the country. (Here in CA, ballots will be mailed in just two weeks!)
So the time is NOW to do everything in our power to support strong Democratic candidates. Please pitch in whatever you can today, and let’s send a message to the extremists that their values do not reflect ours. [[link removed]]

If we can push through these final weeks with strength, we can flip the House, hold the Senate, and send Kamala Harris and Tim Walz to the White House – and if we do that, I know we can get back to the kind of public service the American people deserve.
Thanks for everything.
-Sara
