Dear John,
Because of the coronavirus, we recently made the heartbreaking decision to postpone our annual dinner for the first time in my 16-year tenure at Minnesota Family Council.
The annual dinner is truly one of the highlights of the year for me and my whole team, and we are terribly disappointed not to be able to enjoy that fellowship with you, celebrating what the Lord has done and hearing from key leaders in our movement, like Abby Johnson - former Planned Parenthood director turned pro-life superstar.
But it’s also a vitally important event that makes what we do the rest of the year possible. Revenue from the event accounts for around 30% of our annual income. And while we are fortunate to have a make-up date (mark your calendars for September 17th), that delay is going to be very costly because of the important work we have to do right now. Just to give one example, we sent a letter signed by more than 1,400 Minnesotans asking Governor Walz to prohibit abortions during the pandemic so that protective equipment could go to hospitals treating COVID-19 patients.
We normally rely on proceeds from our annual dinner to sustain us through the summer, when giving typically slows down. And in a presidential election year like this one, it’s even more critical because we have statewide initiatives to protect LIFE through this election campaign that need your support now.
If the Lord has kept you in a stable financial position during this time, such that you are able to make a gift of $25, $50, $100, or even more, as the Lord leads, we would be incredibly grateful. Your sacrificial giving will help us get through this crisis and make it possible for us to continue our work to protect life, family, and religious freedom.
We’re working hard even during this pandemic to protect life from abortionists who are flaunting prohibitions on essential surgeries, and protecting churches from government overreach that threatens their religious freedom - will you partner with us in this crucial work? Click below!
