John, I have exciting news to share.

I was recently appointed to serve on the House Judiciary Committee, becoming the only member from Illinois to represent our state on this critical committee!

This new role will allow me to deepen my work fighting for the values and priorities that matter most to our communities.

By focusing on fighting for a just and humane immigration system, defending civil liberties against undemocratic attacks, and promoting judicial ethics and antitrust reform, I will make sure that Illinois' voices are heard loud and clear in Congress.

As a Mexican-American and a lifelong advocate for immigrant rights, I understand firsthand the struggles many of our communities face, and I remain committed to advocating for progressive solutions that uplift all of us.

This appointment is an opportunity to ensure that Illinois continues to lead on issues like immigration reform, workers’ rights, and civil liberties.
