Republican leaders are playing reckless partisan games to score political points by attempting a petition drive and filing lawsuits against our Governor.

Gretchen Whitmer for Governor

John,

This morning, Senate Majority Leader Mike Shirkey backed a petition drive to limit the Governor’s emergency powers, saying this is “probably the Number 1 priority right now.”

We are in an emergency, and our political opponents are trying to take away Gretchen’s emergency powers.

It’s time to take a stand against these partisan attacks on Governor Whitmer. She is working tirelessly to keep Michiganders safe. Contribute $10 to put an end to these partisan games from Republican leaders and help Gretchen continue to keep Michiganders safe.

Gretchen has demonstrated thoughtful, clear leadership throughout this crisis. She’s working day and night with a singular focus: defending Michigan from COVID-19.

Republican leaders should be ashamed of themselves for using a crisis to pursue a partisan power grab. By attempting to limit Gretchen’s emergency powers, the Republican legislature is hurting our state’s ability to keep Michigan safe.

Right now, we need to show that we are in this fight together and put talks of these ridiculous partisan games to rest. Can you pitch in $10 right now to defend Gretchen from these attacks?

Thank you,

Team Whitmer

Gretchen Whitmer is a proven fighter, can mobilize people to take on our big problems, and will challenge the status quo in Lansing to get things done for all Michiganders. As a mom, former legislator, and prosecutor, she’ll fight for the things that matter to people and put them first.
