For months, we’ve been bringing you updates on the case of Marcellus Williams, an Innocence Project client wrongfully convicted of murder and sentenced to death. His execution for a crime he didn’t commit is just one day away — but it’s not too late to save his life.
Please, call Governor Mike Parson RIGHT NOW at 417-373-3400 and URGE him to step in and prevent Marcellus’ execution. Then, tell friends and family to do the same, and make a post on social media to spread the word.

Last-minute intervention has worked before. In 2022, Melissa Lucio’s execution was canceled two days before her scheduled execution. Right now, Marcellus’ life depends on a similar miracle. But it won’t happen unless we speak up.

With so little time until Marcellus is set to be executed tomorrow, Sept. 24th at 6 p.m., our best tool is our voice. We must make as much noise as possible in these final hours, as public pressure can make all the difference in the moments leading up to an execution. We’ve already driven over 25,000 calls toward Gov. Parson, but we can’t let up now.

John, urge Gov. Mike Parson to do the right thing by calling 417-373-3400 and ask everyone you know to do the same. It could make all the difference.

Thank you.

The Innocence Project works to free the innocent, prevent wrongful convictions, and create fair, compassionate, and equitable systems of justice for everyone. Founded in 1992 by Barry C. Scheck and Peter J. Neufeld at the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law at Yeshiva University, the organization is now an independent nonprofit. Our work is guided by science and grounded in anti-racism.
