Happy Sunday – we hope you are enjoying your weekend! | Welcome back to Team Elise's weekly newsletter! We send a note to Elise's supporters weekly to update them on what she's working on in Capitol Hill and across NY-21. | Here are a few top Team Elise updates and stories we have been tracking for the past week! | Responding to the Second Assassination Attempt on President Trump | At Wednesday’s House Republican press conference, Elise called out Far Left Democrats for pushing rhetoric that has contributed to political violence and two assassination attempts against President Trump. She challenged the national media to start holding Democrats accountable for their reckless statements. Elise also raised questions about the lack of protection allowing two dangerous would-be assassins to get close to President Trump. | "I am grateful to hear that President Trump is safe following today's reported assassination attempt in Florida. I join in thanks for our hardworking law enforcement officers working to keep President Trump, his family, and his team safe.
However, we must ask ourselves how an assassin was allowed to get this close to President Trump again? There continues to be a lack of answers for the horrific assassination attempt in Pennsylvania and we expect there to be a clear explanation of what happened today in Florida.
Thankfully, God continues to watch over President Trump. As Americans we must unite behind him in November to protect our republic and bring peace back to the world." | Elise Earns Record Endorsements from Republican, Democrat, and Independent Local Elected Officials in NY-21 | This week, Elise announced additional endorsements from Republican, Democrat, and Independent local elected officials in Essex, Hamilton, and Schoharie. Elise is Upstate New York and the North Country’s fighter at the highest levels of our government. She has consistently delivered real results to the district, earning historic support in her re-election effort from local elected officials in every party in every county. In Essex, Hamilton, and Schoharie, Elise earned record-high endorsements from officials, including from every town in those counties! | | “Elise Stefanik has proven time and time again through her actions that she is a true representative for the 21st District. Economic development and revitalization are critical endeavors in Ticonderoga, and Elise demonstrates that she recognizes this through her support on vital issues such as broadband access, fire protection, restoring cross border travel, jobs and affordable housing issues, and funding for safer drinking water,” Ticonderoga Town Supervisor Mark Wright said. “In understanding the importance of our area’s historic past to our future potential, Elise has supported us while also on a national level continuing to fight for the rights of all Americans on issues such as our sacred 2nd Amendment rights. Our region is vast in area but small in population, but we have a right to be heard. With Elise as our voice, our smaller Adirondack and North Country communities are finally heard. Elise Stefanik has delivered and continues to deliver Real Results to Ticonderoga and the North Country region and has my full endorsement.” | “I’m honored to earn record endorsements of so many local elected officials in Essex County. Regardless of political party, I’ve worked closely with leaders across Essex County to deliver real results for our communities. I look forward to continuing to serve as a voice for Upstate New York and the North Country in Congress.” | “Elise Stefanik is doing a great job for Upstate NY and the whole country. She works hard for our farmers and makes sure their voice is heard in Washington. She loves her country, she’s somebody you can talk to, and if you’ve got a problem she’s someone who knows how to get things done,” County Board of Supervisors Vice Chairman and Summit Town Supervisor Harold Vroman said. | “I am honored and humbled to have received the support of 79 Schoharie County elected officials. I’m proud to deliver real results for our communities in Schoharie County, and I look forward to continuing to fight on your behalf in Washington!” | “Elise never gives up the fight. With her as our Congresswoman, I can have faith that better days are coming. Earlier this year, she secured $1.5 million in funding for our Small Cell Cellular Deployment Project, which meant so much to us. She has not forgotten the North Country or the needs of Hamilton County,” said County Board of Supervisors Chairman and Indian Lake Supervisor Brian Wells. | “I am honored to have earned the endorsement of 45 Hamilton County elected officials. Together we're working to help hardworking families in Upstate New York and the North Country and I look forward to continuing to serve NY-21 in Washington!” | Three More New York Law Enforcement Organizations Endorse Elise | This week, Elise earned the endorsement of the New York State Police Investigators Association, the Police Conference of New York and the New York State Fraternal Order of Police. These three organizations represent nearly 75,000 active and retired law enforcement officers across the state. | NYSPIA President Timothy Dymond stated – | "NYSPIA is honored to endorse Elise Stefanik for re-election to Congress. Her unwavering support of law enforcement officers in New York and across the country makes her the clear choice in this election. She has never backed down from standing up to radical Far Left Democrat calls to defund the police and dangerous bail reform laws that put criminals back on our streets. Congresswoman Stefanik is the only candidate deserving to represent New York's 21st Congressional District and we look forward to working with her to further support law enforcement officers and their families." | PCNY President Michael O’Meara stated – | "PCNY is honored to endorse Chairwoman Elise Stefanik for re-election to Congress. Congresswoman Stefanik has been a xxxxxx against radical Far Left Democrat calls to defund the police and has always advocated for the safety of our communities and the police that protect them. The PCNY is fully behind Congresswoman Stefanik, and we are glad to have Congresswoman Stefanik in Congress fighting for our law enforcement!" | NYSFOP President Michael Essig stated – | "As the oldest and largest national association of law enforcement professionals with over 20,000 members statewide, we have based our endorsement upon your demonstrated and continued support of police professionals. Further, as police professionals who most experience and witness the trauma and effects of criminal behavior wrecked upon our fellow citizens, we understand, all too well, the significance of dedicated public servants as Congresswoman Elise Stefanik who possess the courage and compassion to promote the confidence in our government and courts." | Elise Joins Mornings with Maria | On Wednesday, Elise joined Mornings with Maria to discuss the Far Left Democrat open borders agenda under border czar Kamala Harris that has turned every state into a border state and threatened the safety and security of every American. | Watch the full segment here. | Elise Earns Friend of Farm Bureau Award | On Wednesday, the New York Farm Bureau honored Elise with their 2024 Friend of Farm Bureau Award in recognition of her tireless advocacy on behalf of North Country farmers. | | I am honored to receive the Friend of Farm Bureau Award in recognition of my advocacy for the essential needs of our incredibly hardworking farmers, growers, and producers in Upstate New York and the North Country. This Congress, I voted to pass the Whole Milk for Healthy Kids Act in the House to ensure our children have access to flavored and unflavored whole milk in school, countered Joe Biden’s restrictions on WIC families’ access to nutritional milk and dairy products by introducing the Protecting Mothers and Infants’ Access to Milk Act, and protected egg producers and the quality of their products by combating the unfair practice of mislabeled imitation egg products using the term “egg” on their product labels with my bill, the Consistent Egg Labels Act. I will proudly continue working on behalf of our Upstate New York and North Country farmers who are the backbone of our communities. | Strengthening America’s Turning Point Act Receives Hearing | In July, Elise introduced the Strengthening America’s Turning Point Act to rename the Saratoga National Historic Park as Saratoga National Battlefield Park. On Wednesday, the House Committee on Natural Resources held a legislative hearing on the bill, bringing it one step closer to a vote on the House floor. | “As we approach the 250th anniversary of our country’s founding, I am proud that my legislation renaming our battlefields “Saratoga National Battlefield Park” advanced through committee to more accurately reflect the historical significance of the site and emphasize the crucial military engagements that took place there. As Co-Chair of the Congressional Battlefield Caucus, it is my great honor to champion the preservation of our many battlefields and historic sites in Upstate New York, the North Country, and across the nation.” | Elise Speaks Out Against Antisemitism On College Campuses | Rutgers University Arrests Veteran for Opposing Terrorism | On Monday, news broke that an Army veteran law student at Rutgers University was arrested for posting anti-terrorism flyers on campus. University administrators deemed his speech inflammatory and demanded he take the flyers down. However, the school allowed the pro-terrorist encampments to remain. | In a post on X, Elise said – | “[Rutgers] allowed a pro-Hamas mob to take over campus without repercussions, yet punishes and attempts to silence a veteran for standing with America and against antisemitism. This is disgusting, unacceptable, and we must have accountability.” | “Jonathan Holloway must resign in disgrace immediately for allowing antisemitic mobs to repeatedly target and threaten the safety of Jewish students, surrendering to the pro-Hamas encampment on campus, and continuing to employ antisemitic and terror-supporting faculty and staff.” | On Tuesday evening, president Jonathan Holloway announced that he would be leaving Rutgers University at the end of the academic year. | See Elise’s posts here and here. Read more in Fox News here. | Harvard Refuses to Cooperate with Investigation of Antisemitic Assault | On Wednesday, Elise and House Education Committee Chairwoman Virginia Foxx (NC) released a letter chastising Harvard University president Alan Garber for refusing to cooperate with the Suffolk County District Attorney’s investigation of the October 2023 protest where a Jewish student was assaulted. The Committee’s probe into Harvard’s actions revealed that university police refused to investigate this event further or search for any inculpatory or exculpatory evidence as requested. Elise and Chairwoman Foxx demanded that Harvard produce the remainder of the documents subpoenaed by the Committee before the end of September. | In a post on X, Elise stated – | “I am disgusted by [Harvard’s] incessant protection of antisemitism and brazen obstruction of law enforcements’ efforts to bring much needed accountability to campus.” | Read more in the Washington Free Beacon here and see her post here. | Elise Introduces Securing Infrastructure from Adversaries Act | On Friday September 13th, Elise introduced the Securing Infrastructure from Adversaries Act alongside Congressman Dusty Johnson (SD) and Chairman John Moolenaar (MI) of the House Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party. This legislation would prevent the Department of Transportation from utilizing Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) mapping systems produced by companies associated with the Chinese Communist Party. Elise and the House Republicans are united in protecting U.S. national security and curbing Communist China’s unfair trade practices. | “The U.S. cannot rely on Communist China for emerging critical technologies such as LiDAR. Unsecure LiDAR produced by our greatest strategic adversary jeopardizes our national security and undermines the competitiveness of American companies. I am proud to join Congressman Dusty Johnson and Chairman John Moolenaar in introducing legislation to root out Communist Chinese-manufactured LiDAR from the United States.” | - FREE BEACON: Elise slams Harvard for stonewalling Harvard’s criminal investigation.
