What does Project 2025 say about the environment?

The policy playbook known as Project 2025 is 900 pages, and 150 of them are about how to destroy the environment. Project 2025 would gut environmental protections, letting polluters profit at the cost of our air, water, and wildlife. We’ve fought against environmental rollbacks before, and we’re ready to do it again.

The Great Salt Lake is disappearing

The Great Salt Lake is the largest saltwater lake in the Western Hemisphere and an iconic American ecosystem. It provides habitat for millions of migratory birds and supports a variety of industries. If the lake goes dry, it could threaten human health for generations. This week, Earthjustice went to court to save it.

After 100 years, fish will now swim freely in the Puyallup River

Thanks to an Earthjustice lawsuit, a court has ruled in favor of the Puyallup Tribe, ordering a portion of Electron Dam be removed because of the harm it poses to the endangered salmon that spawn and migrate in the river.

Our Energy Future can be bright — if we demand it

“We were sold fracking on energy independence. It was, in fact, for plastic.” – Jill Hunkler is a seventh-generation Ohio resident in Belmont County, the most heavily fracked county in the state. Jill shares her story for the Our Energy Future video series, which uplifts the voices of individuals from across the nation who have first-hand knowledge of the harms caused by the fossil fuel industry.

Earthjustice takes the government to court to account for the damage caused by oil, gas, and coal development and for years has been urging the Bureau of Land Management to reform the federal oil and gas lease program.
