Hey,

South Jersey's small businesses are the backbone of our economy. They create jobs, bring in revenue to our state, and -- perhaps most important of all -- they are valued pillars of our community.

These are the businesses on Main Street where the employees remember your name. They are the businesses that go above and beyond to deliver the results you need. We all know it's those charming mom-and-pop shops that make us smile and keep us coming back time and time again to support our neighbors.

Today, we are kicking off National Small Business Week by asking you to take the pledge to shop local. Now more than ever, we need to support the small businesses in our community who have always supported us.

It's been heartbreaking to watch so many of the small businesses we love -- coffee shops, florists, hair salons, and more -- close their doors in the face of COVID-19. And while the social distancing we're all doing is vital to combat this public health crisis, we also need to make sure our community's small businesses don't get left behind.

Shopping local is going to look different right now, but there's no wrong way to participate. You can buy a gift card from your favorite boutique, or order delivery from a much-loved small restaurant. Maybe there's a curbside pick-up or even a way to donate to an employee relief fund they're organizing.

No matter how you choose to support small businesses this week, join us in taking the pledge today to shop local >>
