Lately, Donald Trump has been hanging around with conspiracy theorist Laura Loomer…
a lot.
If you’re unfamiliar with Loomer, here’s a quick recap on her extreme views:
- She claimed the 2020 election was rigged,
- She’s promoted conspiracy theories about 9/11,
- She falsely claimed COVID-19 was used as an excuse to manipulate the 2020 election,
- She’s falsely claimed that Haitian immigrants are eating people’s pets,
- And that’s just scratching the surface.
It’s horrifying that a former president, and current candidate, would surround himself with such an extreme person, but it’s a clear reflection of the growing influence of dangerous conspiracy theories and far-right extremism within his inner circle – and the GOP as a whole.
It’s beliefs like these that are leading to a surge in violence against our election workers, threatening the very integrity of our democratic process.
