Hi ACLU Supporter, We launched our Right to Learn campaign to raise a critical $75,000 – with every donation matched thanks to a generous donor contribution – to protect students' First Amendment rights as school starts back up again. But the deadline for this campaign is at midnight tonight, and we're still 45 donations short of the resources we need to stop censorship in classrooms. Can you please rush a donation and have whatever you give doubled to help us hit this goal and protect students' First Amendment right to learn? School censorship is sweeping the country in the form of book bans, curriculum restrictions, attempts to stifle campus protests, and laws that silence conversations about race and gender. These measures threaten students' First Amendment rights to free speech and freedom of expression. The ACLU has fought to stop censorship policies – blocking Florida's “Stop WOKE” Act in higher education and continuing the fight as the state appeals, helping protesters on campus know their rights while fighting unconstitutional attempts to stifle dissent, and challenging other free speech attacks in Iowa, Texas, and across the country. But as students return to school, millions are being faced with censorship right now that the ACLU must challenge. That's why hitting this goal is absolutely important: The resources we gain from supporters like you enable our nationwide network of attorneys to stop censorship wherever it crops up.
Thanks for your support, Ben Wizner |
