There are a lot of political distractions right now, John.

Presidential politics;

The horse race for control of Congress;

A potential government shutdown;

And so much more.

All that to say, it's never been more important to focus on the elections that matter the most:

Iowa's State Assembly races.

It may not be the hottest topic this fall, but down-ballot races like ours have the most potential to affect our daily lives; for better or for worse.

Here in northwestern Iowa, there are two incredible candidates for state legislature who I am proud to support: Jess Lopez-Walker and Rosanne Plante. These two women, running for IA House Districts 2 and 13 respectively, have been tirelessly working on behalf of our community throughout their careers and are the exact kind of leaders who will fight for us in the state house.
