The three Trump-aligned members that make up the majority on the board approved the rule that would require three people in every precinct to check machine-vote tallies by hand-counting the election results, despite a warning from the state attorney general that this rule and others in consideration "very likely exceed the board’s statutory authority." Voting experts have long warned that hand-counts are time-consuming, costly, and less reliable than machines, but they have been favored nonetheless by conservative activists who doubt the results of the 2020 election — despite zero evidence of widespread fraud or irregularities that would have changed the outcome. Advocates have warned that Georgia’s proposed rule is contrary to state law and an avenue for error. Which is probably precisely the point.

However, rather than installing the razor wire along the Rio Grande river bank that faces Mexico, KTSM on Tuesday captured footage of Texas Army National Guard troops installing it along a bank that faces New Mexico. New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham, a Democrat, told The Independent in a statement that Abbott’s latest move was a “political stunt” that will have “will have no meaningful impact on our nation’s broken immigration system.” The Texas governor “seems to be pushing to make Texas its own country without regard for his neighbors or the fact that Texas is already part of a great nation — the United States,” Lujan Grisham said.

National Review under fire for disgusting cartoon about Democratic Rep. Rashida Tlaib and pager bombs
The Detroit News and National Review faced harsh backlash for publishing a political cartoon connecting Rep. Rashida Tlaib to the pager bomb attacks in Lebanon and Syria that killed 37 people — including at least 12 civilians — and wounded more than 3,000.
