Saludos John — Happy Hispanic Heritage Month!
I’m incredibly proud to represent New Mexico’s largest Hispanic District in Congress. In New Mexico, we are blessed with a rich and diverse tapestry of history, culture and tradition that comes to life in the people and landscapes we call home.
Many important parts of Hispanic history—as well as our nation’s history—have been written here against the backdrop of our public lands and the jagged, sun-kissed peaks of the Organ Mountains.
This month, and every month, we honor those who came before us — and celebrate the continuation of our traditions and culture now in the 21st century.
As a first-generation Mexican-American who grew up on both sides of the border, I know how important it is that our stories are told in Congress, and I’m proud to help lead the Congressional Hispanic Caucus.
But here’s the thing, John: my time in Congress could be cut short. I only flipped this seat blue in 2022 with 50.3% of the vote, and MAGA Republicans are throwing every attack my way to unseat me this November.
