Last week, The U.S. Food and Drug Administration issued a new ruling requiring all mammography reports to provide patients with an assessment of their breast density. Dense breast tissue can make it more difficult to detect cancer on a mammogram and can require additional testing—which is often not covered by insurance and can cost thousands of dollars out-of-pocket.

I was joined by the Breast Cancer Coalition and Elizabeth Wende Breast Care to announce legislation that will make additional diagnostic testing for individuals at higher risk for breast cancer available under health coverage with no cost-sharing. No one should be excluded from early detection screenings because they cannot afford the testing. I will continue my advocacy in Washington to get the Find It Early Act passed into law and get people the healthcare they need at a cost they can afford.

The Monroe County APEX Accelerator works to connect a wide range of these businesses and provide them with the education, training, and resources they need to secure Department of Defense, federal, state, and local contracts.

I joined the Monroe County APEX Accelerator and my partners in government this week to discuss Rochester's immense potential for leadership in advanced technologies.

It was great to be with the Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce for a discussion on how we can best harness the power of our historic Tech Hubs designation and the $40 million in funding I helped secure to boost our semiconductor industry.

Together we are pushing our community into an exciting period of growth and revitalization in which we will redefine the future of semiconductor manufacturing and innovation in Rochester.

I was honored to host a delegation from the Ukrainian Parliament and receive an update on their efforts to defeat Russian forces and their plans for post-war reconstruction.
