Texas Taxpayers Deserve Transparency

One year ago this week, after Speaker Dade Phelan's failed impeachment of the Texas Attorney General, I formally called for an audit of all taxpayer money spent by the House of Representatives and the Senate on the impeachment, including all costs for staff and outside attorneys.
My office and the Senate quickly submitted our costs to the State Auditor.
Speaker Phelan has still failed to comply with Government Code 321.019 for an entire year by blocking the State Auditor from accessing the House of Representatives' total impeachment-related costs, preventing her from completing the audit.
Apparently, Speaker Phelan doesn't believe he needs to tell taxpayers how much he spent on the impeachment and thinks he is above the law.
Texas taxpayers deserve transparency on how much Speaker Phelan and the House spent of their money on the failed impeachment.
Here is the letter I sent to our State Auditor on Wednesday. [[link removed]]
TPPF: The Leading Conservative Think Tank in America
TPPF [[link removed]]
Today, I was a keynote speaker at the annual policy summit of the Texas Public Policy Foundation (TPPF). I talked about the Senate's commitment to fulfilling the priorities of the conservative majority of Texans, such as school choice, ongoing property tax relief, border security, and fortifying our power grid. The Texas Senate, TPPF, and I are dedicated to ensuring that Texas remains true to its values.
TPPF Speaking [[link removed]]
I attended their 35th-anniversary ball last evening and had the opportunity to catch up with old friends and celebrate TPPF's numerous accomplishments for Texas and the nation.
We honored one of the founders of TPPF, Brooke Rollins, who built the finest conservative think tank in America. Brooke was selected by President Trump as his domestic policy advisor in 2017.

I was deeply honored to speak at the Israel Allies Foundation Gala and Award Dinner in Dallas last week. It was an unforgettable and meaningful event that I was proud to be part of. Texas stands strongly with Israel. I have been a staunch supporter of Israel and the Jewish community in Texas for decades, both spiritually and financially.
I traveled to Israel several years ago and have worked to strengthen the ties between Texas and Israel economically. I bought my first Israel bonds over a decade ago, and my campaign purchased $6 million in Israel bonds following Hamas’ heinous attack on October 7th. Anti-Semitism has no place in the Republican Party or in Texas.

Speaking at an Event Supporting Adam Hinojosa

Hinojosa Event [[link removed]]
I spoke in Beeville this week to a large crowd that came out to support Adam Hinojosa, our Republican candidate for the Texas Senate in Senate District 27, stretching from Corpus Christi to Brownsville.
Adam lost by only 659 votes out of about 175,000 cast in the last election. He was totally unknown then and greatly outspent. Governor Abbott has also endorsed Adam. He would be the first Hispanic Republican from the Valley in history.
Larry Busby [[link removed]]
Sheriff Larry Busby, from nearby Live Oak County, was also in attendance. He is the longest-serving sheriff in Texas, having held the position for 44 years. When he finishes his new term, he will become the longest-serving sheriff in Texas history. That’s simply amazing.
