Team,
Since I took office in 2022, I have been dedicated to moving Los Angeles forward with an urgent, strategic approach to confront climate change.
With the heat wave we experienced earlier this month, there can be no doubt — the climate crisis is here. And it couldn’t be more important that we meet this challenge swiftly and decisively.
Together, with locked arms, we’ve taken action to prioritize the health and safety of Angelenos in the face of the unique environmental issues we face. Here’s some of the critical work we’ve done:
- Helped secure $1.2 billion for California in federal funding to expedite the growth and implementation of renewable energy
- Continued the improvement of Los Angeles’ water quality and worked to reduce carbon emissions throughout the City
- Worked to electrify city services by launching the first 100% electric full-size street sweeper in the U.S., as well as increasing the number of electric DASH buses across Los Angeles
Our work isn’t done. We must continue to fight for a future where everyone in Los Angeles has access to clean air, water, and energy. If you’re on board, sign onto my petition to take action against climate change >>
Let’s keep moving L.A. in a newer, greener direction.
