Hello John, Big government lawmakers here in the U.S. keep trying to impose a government takeover of health care on the American people who don’t want it. Now comes a new study out of the United Kingdom on its National Health Service (NHS) that perfectly illustrates why government-run health care is a bad idea. According to the report, the National Health Service “is in serious trouble.” Here are just some of the issues the report found: - People are “struggling” to get appointments with their primary care doctors because there simply aren’t enough doctors to meet the growing demand.
- Waiting lists for mental health services have “surged.”
- Accident and emergency care is in an “awful state.”
- Waiting times for hospital visits have “ballooned.”
- Cancer care still “lags behind” other countries.
- Care for cardiovascular conditions is going in the “wrong direction.”
Wait times are a huge problem. Another study estimated that in 2023 some 14,000 people died in emergency rooms in the U.K. waiting for care. That’s what happens when the government has total control. Why would we ever want a system like that for America? And yet lawmakers keep pushing their Medicare for All scheme that would impose an NHS-type system here. It’s crazy. There is a better way, and it’s called the Personal Option. The Personal Option breaks down the government barriers that prevent Americans from accessing the doctors and the coverage they want. Instead of funding government bureaucracies and insurance companies, the Personal Option would fund patients, so they are in control. Giving individuals and families more choice and control means providers have to compete for your business, which would lower costs. |
