Yesterday, I was in Warrensburg to meet with students. A couple members of our staff study there, and they set up a table for the campaign.
In between students, one woman came up to the table, looked at my flyer, and said, "He's not the candidate for me." I went up to her and said, "What's wrong with him!?" She looked at me, looked at Liberty Belle, looked back at the flyer, and said, "OK. Who are you running against?"
"Andrew Bailey."
"I can't stand Andrew Bailey." |
We started talking. She was a big fan of Will Scharf, Bailey's primary opponent. I told her my mom was too.
I said she should watch our first Attorney General town hall together, one of several that Bailey bailed on. Although Will and I didn't agree on everything, we agreed on one fundamental thing: Our government is corrupt and does not serve the People of Missouri. She was also frustrated with our government and really didn't seem to be stuck on one party or another. She felt like our country isn't going in the right direction and could be a lot better if folks in government listened to the people they represented more. I told her I would start a Public Corruption Unit to bring accountability back to our government. She liked that.
This lady is very involved in a grassroots Republican volunteer network. She knew about the folks I met in Warsaw at Trump HQ, and she said she'd invite me to something similar in Warrensburg. She hates puppy mills too. Before she left, she made a point to come up to me to say goodbye. "I'll see you soon!"
While this was going on, Liberty Belle made a new friend, a student who LOVES dogs and really wants one of her own. Her friends were interested in being lawyers, maybe even working at the office at some point after I win. But this young lady plans to apply to be Deputy Attorney General Liberty Belle's personal assistant. Can't wait. |

On Saturday, I'll be in a parade in California (MO), at a rally in Miller, and then I'll be swinging back up to Columbia for a sustainable agriculture event.
On Sunday, I'll be debating an empty chair. Come root me on against EMPTY CHAIR! |
We're looking for a few more Regional Organizers, especially in St. Louis and St. Charles.

We've got a lot more work to do, but we've done some very big things already. We have contacted THE MOST voters so far of any campaign, and we've invested heavily in activating volunteers all over the state.
We need folks to volunteer on our phone banks and at our joint canvasses. We need people to host meetings - including online ones - with their friends who don't know much about the Attorney General's Office. And we need to get Liberty Belle on TV for 30 seconds, so please consider contributing to her fund here. Thank you so much for your support. We can get the Attorney General's Office working for us again, but we have to put in the work now to do it. There's no more waiting. Let's get it done. Wondering how you fit in? Just email me back.
Sincerely yours, Elad |
