What is Project 2025?
Project 2025 is a 900-page blueprint for Donald Trump’s second term. Written by the Heritage Foundation, a far-right think tank, Project 2025’s authors include Trump’s former Cabinet secretaries, top White House officials, and senior aides. And despite Trump’s repeated efforts to distance himself from this extreme agenda, at least 270 Project 2025 proposals match Trump’s past policies and campaign promises.
How does it work?
Project 2025 seeks to dramatically expand the powers of the executive branch by placing the entire federal bureaucracy — including the Department of Justice — under direct presidential control. To achieve Trump’s radical agenda, Project 2025 even calls for eliminating job protections for thousands of experienced employees, and replacing them with MAGA loyalists.
The goal is to implement their conservative, radical agenda in Colorado and across the country. Policies like:
* A de facto national ban on medication abortion
* Eliminating the Department of Education
* Allowing states to discriminate against our LGBTQ+ neighbors
* Raising taxes on low-income Americans
What does this mean for Colorado’s 7th District?
The impacts of Project 2025 would harm Americans in all 50 states — including families right here in CO-07. Make no mistake: Trump’s plan to raise costs on working families, take away resources from public schools, and restrict access to reproductive health care would have a devastating effect on the everyday lives of middle-class Coloradans.
