Friends,

I hope you and your family are well! I wanted to provide you with a few updates regarding what’s going on –

Trump Safe After 2nd Assassination Attempt

Praise the Lord that President Trump is safe, and we are thankful for the Secret Service that responded quickly to the threat, but there are important questions that need answering:

  • How did a sniper get within 500 yards of President Trump?
  • How could he wait there for 12 hours undetected?
  • HOW DID HE KNOW President Trump would be there on an unscheduled visit?

We need to ensure protection for all presidential candidates

Keep AM Radio in New Vehicles

This week, I spoke in favor of keeping AM radio in new vehicles for emergency purposes and stopping EV manufacturers from silencing Conservative voices on talk radio. I was glad to see H.R. 8449 pass Committee (49-2) with overwhelming bipartisan support and move on to the House.

Late-Term Abortions Happen

On average, 1,734 babies are born alive after failed abortions nationwide each year, and 16 in South Carolina since 2017. Abortion Survivors Network (ASN) estimates that 85,817 babies were born alive while abortion was legal under Roe v Wade. ASN also provides testimonies from abortion survivors and provides resources for patients and families.

As Dr. Susan Bane and Dr. Christina Francis explain, the tragic deaths of Amber Thurman and Candi Miller in Georgia didn't have to happen. Abortion pills and pro-abortion propaganda and misinformation are hurting women.

Late-term abortions happen, in spite of what radical Democrat politicians and the left-wing media want you to believe.

If you or someone you know needs help, a pregnancy center near you will provide free and confidential services. Contact South Carolina Citizens for Life for more information.

Also, maternity homes are available for women with unplanned or crisis pregnancies, providing food, shelter, and health resources.

I will always fight for the life of the unborn, and I’m proud to have co-sponsored 3 bills in the 118th Congress to protect life and keep taxpayers from funding abortion:

H.R. 371, Defund Planned Parenthood Act (Rep. Michelle Fischbach):  Immediately halts all sources of Federal funding to Planned Parenthood and its affiliates for a one-year period.

H.R.372, Protecting Life and Taxpayers Act (Rep. Michelle Fischbach): Requires all federally funded entities to certify that they will not perform an abortion and will not provide funds to any other entity that performs an abortion, except in cases of rape or incest or where a physical condition endangers the woman's life unless an abortion is performed. This comprehensive legislation ensures that taxpayer dollars do not support the destruction of unborn human life.

H.R. 398, Protecting Life and Integrity in Research Act (Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer): Prohibits the Secretary of Health and Human Services from conducting or supporting any research involving human fetal tissue that is obtained pursuant to an induced abortion.

Biden/Harris Border Cover Up Revealed

In 2019, DHS Secretary Jen Johnson told NBC News, "I know that 1,000 [illegal border crossings] overwhelms the system. I cannot begin to imagine what 4,000/day looks like."

Well, now we know what 5,000 illegal immigrants a day looks like.

This week, a recently retired Border Patrol Chief testified before Congress that the Biden/Harris Administration ordered him to cover up the increased suspected terrorists arrested at the Southern Border.

The Democrats want the system overwhelmed.

  • They don't want us to know who or how many are coming into the country.
  • They block every effort to secure the border.
  • They block every effort to secure our elections.

Twice I have voted for the SAVE Act to safeguard our elections. Unfortunately, not enough of my colleagues agreed. This is why we need to fix Washington and keep fighting for Conservative values.

Honoring POWs and MIAs

Today, we pay tribute to the brave service members who endured the hardships of captivity and to those who remain unaccounted for. Their unwavering courage and selfless dedication to our country have left an indelible mark on our nation. We honor their sacrifices and vow to never forget.

South Carolina Government News

On Monday, Gov. Henry McMaster submitted a Presidential Disaster Declaration and a U.S. Small Business Administration disaster declaration. These two submissions would acquire funds for residential and commercial reconstruction in the South Carolina counties hit hardest by Tropical Storm Debby. Public assistance programs would mainly help coastal areas, but several counties will benefit from the requested aid.

In the District

The Penguin Project gives young artists the chance to perform in a musical. These young artists are differently-abled. The Penguin Project pairs them with mentors who will aid them with lines and stage directions. The Greenwood Community Theatre is the first location in the state to participate in this program, which provides artistic opportunities. Ryan Hewitt, the creative director of the theatre, is orchestrating “Winnie the Pooh” as the next show for the program. The show will run Thursday and Friday at 7:30 pm and Saturday and Sunday at 2:00 pm.

Next month, Fountain Inn will offer a Civics Academy to educate 12-15 people about local leadership. Those participating in the Academy will visit city staff at multiple locations, including the fire department and city recreation facilities. City leaders will demonstrate daily operations in Fountain Inn across various departments. They will also speak with the Academy attendees about opportunities for involvement in the city such as board openings.

It is an honor to serve the Third District of South Carolina. Should you or your family need assistance, please don’t hesitate to contact my office directly.

Blessings and Liberty,
