Nearly 60% of nonbinary employees in the US have experienced discrimination or harassment at work |
The majority of nonbinary adults in the workforce are under 35 and make less than $50,000 per year, and about half of them are people of color. Our new report reveals that employment discrimination against nonbinary employees is widespread and persistent.
Approximately 59% of nonbinary employees have experienced discrimination or harassment at work due to their sexual orientation or gender identity. In the past year, 16% of nonbinary employees reported being fired, not hired, or not promoted due to their sexual orientation or gender identity. One in five (20%) reported experiencing harassment in the workplace.

LGBT adults in California face increased risks of firearm violence |
California is home to 2.9 million LGBT adults. A new study by the UCLA Center for Health Policy Research in collaboration with the Williams Institute finds one in seven LGBT adults in California have a gun in their home. Nearly 10% of them say that it's kept loaded and unlocked.
The study also found that more LGBT adults in California (55%) worry about being a victim of gun violence than non-LGBT adults (45%). Additionally, an estimated 416,000 LGBT adults in the state said they had thought seriously about suicide in the past year, including an estimated 31,600 who live in households with firearms.
