Leonardo Gómez Ponce, an Ecuadorian journalist, will talk about alias “Washo,” the leader and regulator of Durán’s underworld before his death in 2023. Alina Manrique, an Ecuadorian journalist, will discuss alias “Diablo,” a longtime Latin Kings gang leader who has accumulated significant influence in Durán. The event will be moderated by Katherine Herrera, an Ecuadorian security expert with extensive experience in Durán.
