Have you ever heard the saying, “As Ohio goes, so goes the nation”?

For a long time, each presidential election, all eyes would be on the Buckeye State to see how Ohioans cast their ballots. That would then accurately predict who would win the entire race.

This year, Ohio has the opportunity to be a bellwether for a different reason: the State Supreme Court.

As part of our Democracy Defenders program — a campaign supporting candidates running for state-level offices critical to safeguarding and strengthening democracy — Attorney General Eric Holder endorsed Justice Michael P. Donnelly, Justice Melody Stewart and Judge Lisa Forbes for the Ohio Supreme Court:

“Ohioans have a chance this November to change the trajectory of democracy in the Buckeye State by electing a fair-minded and independent state supreme court majority.”

—Eric Holder

Ohioans have a clear choice this year: On one side, there’s Justice Donnelly, Justice Stewart, and Judge Forbes, who will protect fundamental rights, adhere to legal and judicial norms, and uphold the rule of law for all Ohioans.

They stand in stark contrast to their opponents, who would take the Ohio Supreme Court’s conservative majority even further to the ideological extreme, putting everything from reproductive rights to free and fair elections at risk.

For too long, a group of arrogant politicians have put their personal partisan ideology before the will of the people. But this November Ohioans have a chance to change that by electing a balanced, independent, and fair court to finally hold those politicians accountable.

We’re relying on your support to get Democracy Defenders across the finish line.

So please, rush a donation to the NDRC right away to help win critical elections up and down the ballot: [[link removed]]
