I am writing to you today to ask if you can make a contribution to stand with five great progressive candidates who are running for re-election to the House of Representatives.

Here is the truth:

With the pandemic and economic meltdown we are now experiencing, our country faces an unprecedented moment in our modern history. Now, more than ever, we need progressive and bold voices in Congress who are prepared to take on the greed and power of the corporate elite, and fight for working families.

Our campaign was never about supporting a single candidate. It was about building a movement of people across this country who are prepared to stand up and fight for justice.

Pramila Jayapal, Mark Pocan, Rashida Tlaib, Peter Welch and Ro Khanna are leading that fight in Congress. They are representing our progressive values, and today they are counting on our support.

That's why I am asking:

If you can afford to, can you please split a contribution between these five progressive members of Congress and our campaign? Together we must continue working to transform this country.

Pramila Jayapal is the lead sponsor of Medicare for All in the House, and together we recently proposed emergency legislation to provide universal health coverage during this pandemic. She is co-chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, and prior to joining Congress she headed up the largest immigrant rights organization in Washington State.

Mark Pocan is co-chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus and has been a leading voice for progressive values in Congress for many years. He is currently working to ensure that working people are not left behind in coronavirus relief packages and has introduced legislation to prevent layoffs during the pandemic.

Rashida Tlaib is facing a competitive primary election against the same establishment-backed candidate who she beat by just 887 votes in 2018. In Congress, she is committed to fighting for justice for all and is someone we can count on to take on the billionaire class and corporate elite.

Peter Welch is a leading advocate in Congress for protecting our planet and lowering the cost of prescription drugs. He has also endorsed Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's Green New Deal proposal to move the nation's economy toward carbon neutrality and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Ro Khanna was a national co-chair of our campaign for president and I've worked with him in Congress to end the horrific war and humanitarian disaster in Yemen. He recently introduced legislation to provide $2,000 monthly payments to all Americans during the pandemic and proposed an Essential Workers' Bill of Rights to protect those working on the frontlines.

These five candidates are the kind of people we need in Congress to continue fighting for economic justice, racial justice, social justice and environmental justice. They are prepared to challenge the status quo that benefits the top one percent while everyone else struggles to get by.

Pramila, Mark, Rashida, Peter, and Ro stood with us during our campaign for president, and now I am asking you to stand with them.
