Throughout my time in Congress, I have repeatedly voted to keep the government open and avoid a government shutdown. I understand my job is to make government work for the people of Maine, not play political games.
Meanwhile, my opponent Austin Theriault didn’t even show up to vote on Maine’s biennial budget and voted against the supplemental budget bill that passed earlier this year, purely due to partisanship.
We deserve to have a Congressman who puts partisan politics aside and does what’s best for Mainers, but my opponent promises to be more of the same.
Austin Theriault was hand-picked by the GOP establishment in Washington and they would control him in Washington. We can’t trust him to vote against his own party to keep the government open and avoid future shutdowns.
