Illinois Republicans stand united in our prayers for President Trump’s safety. Political violence has no place in our nation, and the escalating, dangerous rhetoric must come to an end. We are grateful to the Secret Service for their swift action, and Illinois Republicans continue to stand firmly with President Trump.
It has become increasingly clear that Illinois Democrats continue to align themselves with Kamala Harris—who remains steadfast in disguising her radical record. The reason for this allegiance is simple: they want to impose Illinois’ broken policies on the rest of America.
What does this vision entail? It looks like the disastrous policies that are currently unraveling our state:
Largest Tax Increase in State History in 2024
This year, Illinois families have had to endure multiple tax increases, including both a sales tax and property tax hike. Under Governor JB Pritzker’s administration, Illinois residents have faced the largest tax increase in state history, forcing many families into financial hardship.
Soft on Crime
Crime is spiraling out of control in Chicago, exacerbated by Pritzker’s pro-criminal SAFE-T Act. This has left our streets, neighborhoods, and even schools less safe. Cook County Prosecutor Kim Foxx continues to allow criminals to slip through the cracks by refusing to charge to the fullest extent and by dropping more felony cases than any of her predecessors. Meanwhile, gun, drug, and theft charges derived from some traffic stops are no longer being pursued, further endangering the public.
Migrant Crisis Surge
Since 2022, Pritzker has funneled nearly $3 billion in taxpayer dollars into services for illegal border crossers, yet these efforts have failed to produce any real solutions. Both Pritzker and Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson continue to pour more money into ineffective plans while Illinoisans suffer. At the same time, Democrats in Illinois continue to cozy up to the failed “Border Czar,” Kamala Harris, without addressing the growing crisis.
Prison Review Board Failures
In April, tragedy struck Illinois when an 11-year-old boy was stabbed to death—just one day after the state's Prison Review Board released his killer. Instead of taking responsibility, Pritzker and his administration deflected, while dangerous criminals continue to roam our streets, unpunished and unrehabilitated, after not serving full sentences.
Pritzker’s Election Interference
Pritzker’s efforts to interfere in Illinois elections were exposed when a Sangamon County court struck down his attempt to undermine voters' voices earlier this year. His ploy aimed to eliminate opposition by blocking the slating of candidates without a primary, which would have ensured that Democrat candidates would go unchallenged in general elections.
Residents Are Leaving Illinois in Droves
With Illinois’ unsustainable policies, it's no surprise that residents are leaving in record numbers. Last year alone, 32,836 people packed up and left Illinois, taking their wealth with them and placing an even greater tax burden on those who remain.
The bottom line is clear: Illinois Democrats are leading our state toward ruin. If Kamala Harris becomes the next president, the rest of the country will face the same fate. In November, both Illinois families and Americans across the country must remember the failures and extreme agenda that have defined the leadership of elected Democrat officials.
