John, this week,
March For Our Lives and Ben & Jerry’s teamed up with gun safety champions
on Capitol Hill for an ice cream social to highlight the impact of gun
violence on young people and advocate for the Counseling Not
Criminalization in Schools Act.

Take a look at some photos from the event ✨:

Youth organizers delivered THOUSANDS of petition signatures to nearly 200
congressional offices demanding safer schools.

Too often, elected officials push strategies that fail to prevent
violence, fuel the school-to-prison pipeline, and make schools LESS safe.
This is especially true for Black students who are 3x more likely than
white students to be arrested at school for the same behavior.

That’s why we need the Counseling Not Criminalization in Schools Act.

The bill would redirect federal funds away from measures like metal
detectors and armed officers and toward proven solutions like counselors
and intervention programs that address the root causes of gun violence.

The ice cream social and petition drop-off were part of a larger campaign
partnership with Ben & Jerry’s. Since last month, we’ve campaigned in key
states – Georgia, Florida, Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and North
Carolina – to help fight for safe schools, pass this bill, and mobilize
youth voters of color.

Check out some more of the campaign below ⬇️:

this bill passed!
