Team,
As Texas begins to reopen, it's crucial that we have widespread testing in place. But many Texas counties have performed no tests at all so far, and we rank 49th in testing out of all 50 states. And Sen. John Cornyn has been downplaying the need to ramp it up.
He said that "if you don't have any symptoms of the coronavirus, there is not a great reason to get tested." But that's not what medical experts are saying. It's possible to have (and spread!) the virus while experiencing no symptoms, which is why widespread testing is needed to slow transmission and keep communities safe.
We all want to safely reopen and get back to work, but we have to listen to the advice of medical experts to make sure we can stay open. Unfortunately, Senator Cornyn and his political allies are ignoring advice from medical professionals, which could lead to another shutdown when cases start to rise again. If you can, will you make a donation to help us beat him in November?

Unfortunately, this is part of a pattern with Sen. Cornyn. He's spent 20 years in Washington putting his DC bosses ahead of the people of Texas.
In addition to downplaying the need for additional testing, Sen. Cornyn is refusing to oppose a lawsuit that could strike down the Affordable Care Act -- including essential protections for people with pre-existing conditions. That's unacceptable at any time, but especially during a pandemic.
As Texas' next senator, I'll always put the people of this state first. But I'm counting on your help to keep building the campaign we need to win.
If you can, please pitch in to help us beat Sen. Cornyn and flip the Senate this November.

Thank you, and stay safe.

It's clear we need a real leader for Texas and a Senate that prioritizes our health care. More than ever, we're relying on online fundraising to keep building the campaign we need to win in November, and we greatly appreciate your continued support >> [link removed]
However, we know this is not an easy time for many. If you'd like to pause receiving fundraising emails for the next few weeks, please let us know here ([link removed]). We'll still keep in touch with important information and to ask your thoughts from time to time.
