Dear John,

When PAWS pups Bob and Ellen met at our Lincoln Park Adoption Center, the earth shook, the stars trembled, and their tails wagged with joy. This was true love.

Their path to finding PAWS and each other was a rocky one. Both were transported from high kill shelters in rural states. Both had behavioral challenges, maybe because of owner abuse. Ellen had separation anxiety; Bob was afraid of the world at large. We enriched them in loving foster homes, taught them important skills through continued training, and had scores of supportive volunteers and staff who treated them like family. And together Bob & Ellen blossomed at PAWS.

They spent hours curled up tight on the same bed, endlessly played tag on our rooftop deck, and nurtured each other in the most tender ways. Bob helped keep Ellen centered, and Ellen taught Bob how to be a bit braver.

It can be twice as hard to find a family willing to adopt bonded animals but it's so sweet when we do. Watch what happened when Bob & Ellen found that family just a couple of weeks ago. Spoiler alert: true love lasts forever. It might also make you cry.

You Make Love Possible
Stories like this don't happen by accident. They happen because animal lovers like you make them possible through your support. We're endlessly grateful for all you do.

During this week of global giving leading up to Giving Tuesday Now on May 5, please remember all the animals who still need to find their loving families, and support PAWS Chicago if you can ([link removed]) . It's the perfect time to give, because this week, every donation up to $20,000 is matched by The Coleman Foundation.

Warm regards,
Paula Fasseas
Founder and Chair
