Friend --
If you were to design a city, how would you accomplish that
task???
To thrive, the residents of the city should have productive work,
education, access to good hospitals and health facilities, sanitation
systems and clean water,? parks, museums, sports, transportation,?
housing which is stable and in which it is possible to comfortably
bring up a family of any size, inexpensive and sustained
energy.....and what else? Certainly not? a system designed to bail out
"assets" which can never be bailed out!?
Why are our cities in a shambles?? What do the quadrillion dollars
of unpayable derivatives speculation of the so-called 1% have to do
with the grabbing of incomes through rent increases, or the diversion
of taxes to unending wars; or the exploding of energy prices through
tricks played with the energy grid? What about sanctions against other
countries, and seizing other nations' bank accounts??
At tonight's symposium, we will speak with recent participants of a
New York City rally who are actively involved in questions of health
care, in homelessness, in fights against the demolition of entire
neighborhoods by real estate speculators (Fulton Homes and the Penn
Central Project), and those who take very seriously the idea of
creating a healthy, prosperous city.?
We need a healthy, prosperous, and peaceful world as well!??
Join us this Friday night at 8 pm.
