**Dallas Forced to Remove Illegal Ballot Measures by Texas Supreme Court**

The Texas Supreme Court recently handed down a decision that ordered the removal of the **illegal charter amendments** [link removed] proposed by Dallas city council members and kept Dallas HERO's pro-public safety amendments on the ballot.

**This is a significant win for The People and hopefully will hopefully lead to a win for public safety in Dallas.**

Councilmen Adam Bazaldua and Omar Narvaez **conspired to propose charter amendments** [link removed] designed to neuter the Dallas HERO charter amendments, should they pass.

**These were going to be added to the November ballot with little oversight.??**

Dallas HERO Initiative was prepared for this conflict and immediately took the City Council to court in defense of Dallas citizens. Thankfully, SCOTX ruled in favor of voters.

**Be on the lookout for the HERO Amendments when you vote; Propositions S, T, and U will all be on the ballot because of the Dallas HERO Initiative.** Each proposition addresses issues critical to a safer Dallas through increased police funding, government accountability, and citizen enforcement. **Dallas HERO Myth vs. Fact** [link removed]

The campaign to shut down the Dallas HERO Initiative city charter amendments has been rife with misinformation. Local media has been the leading proponent of these lies, but KDS is here to help set the record straight.

**DISD Student Murdered in South Dallas** [link removed]

Demaryae Dequan Hill-Young is now the second DISD student to be murdered since the start of September. Dallas Police can only do so much if they are nearly 1,000 officers short-staffed.

**The Dallas City Council owns these needless deaths until they have exhausted every possible solution to fix the DPD staffing shortage.**

**Shooter Escapes Downtown Dallas??** [link removed]

Last week, a gunman was able to escape downtown Dallas after shooting three people in a high-rise apartment building. This story is particularly startling when you realize that DPD has given us very minimal updates since - other than telling the general public that the shooter was "at large."

**Why does downtown Dallas not have more of a police presence???**

**Tracking Illegal Camps:**

This week, Executive Director Joseph Porter went live from Dallas City Hall to highlight how the City Council actively disrespects residents who come to speak during public comments. KDS released a video showing how the City Council pays little attention to residents as they present their concerns regarding community issues to the Council. Why do our leaders have such disdain for us residents?

**District 7 Councilman Adam Bazaldua**

**"Bunker Hill**

**Camp"**

This camp in Adam Bazaldua's District 7 has been dubbed "Bunker Hill Camp." It is a well-developed vagrancy camp that has been left undisturbed for months. Camps like this are all over Councilman Bazaldua's district, with little talk from him about how to solve the homelessness crisis. Crime is up, and vagrancy is making this area only more dangerous.

**What is Bazaldua going to protect both the homeless and the taxpayers in his district?**

**District 6 Councilman Omar Narvaez**

**"Gated Community Camp"**

This camp in Omar Narvaez's District 6 has earned the title "Gated Community Camp." Expensive gates and fences aren't always enough deterrence to keep vagrants away. In this case, the vagrant overtakes the fence and uses it as a makeshift wall. It's hard to imagine the nearby residents being excited about their neighborhood's newfound 'diversity.'

**When is Omar Narvaez going to clean this mess up?**

**District 2 Councilman Jesse Moreno**

**"Stemmons ER**

**Camp"**

We named this camp in Jesse Moreno's District 2 "Stemmons ER Camp." Near the Dallas Medical District, vagrants gather to get strung out and high. This encampment is the perfect distance to major hospitals so that if any drug addicts get in serious trouble, they're not far from taxpayer-funded medical care.

**Why do we tolerate behavior that is bad for the individual and bad for the community? At what point does lack of enforcement equal participation?**

**Mission Statement:**

Keep Dallas Safe exists to address crime and homelessness in Dallas with the goal of transforming Dallas into the safest large city in Texas for residents and businesses. We aim to have a City Council that prioritizes crime rate which directly determines the quality of life in Dallas. We do this by fighting against the "defund the police" movement, holding accountable our city leaders' efforts towards lowering district crime rates, and highlighting our city's homelessness problems by pushing for enforcement of the prohibition of urban camping.
